Lloyd releases new single, "LAY IT DOWN"! Debut single from KING OF HEARTS album! Listen now!

Since signing with Zone 4/Interscope back in March, Lloyd has been busy prepping his 4th studio album, which he recently announced via twitter (@lloyd_yg) will be titled ‘King of Hearts’. After working with a talented pool of producers and writers including Jim Jonsin, Rico Love, The Runners, Ester Dean, and Bruno Mars, to name a few, the 24 year old R&B singer releases his debut single, “Lay It Down”, produced by Awesome Jones (aka Polow Da Don). The track samples the Patti Labelle classic “Love, Need and Want You”, and will lead the release of King of Hearts which is due out first quarter 2011.

Acclaimed songwriter/producer Polow Da Don had this to say of his work with Lloyd, “Real music, real singing, classic.” Lloyd offered his thoughts on his new situation and single, "It feels good to start fresh with Polow and Interscope, making music is fun again. We took my sound to another level with "Lay It Down". It's a true R&B sound that's missing from music right now."

The G-Unit MC says his latest video is inspired by the '90s flick 'How to Be a Player.'

Lloyd Banks is taking it back to the jiggy era for his latest video.

The G-Unit MC told MTV News that his newest clip, "Any Girl," is inspired by the '90s comedy "How to Be a Player." In the movie, a slick womanizer — played by former MTV VJ Bill Bellamy — juggles his many conquests. "Any Girl" shows Banks trying not to get caught in his web of women.

"I'm running through my day-to-day going to see a few of my girls. I got a white girl, I got [a] Spanish girl, a black girl and I'm going to basically lie to them and tell them how much I love them and how much I want to see them," Banks explained

However, after spending time maneuvering through his ladies, the MC has to eventually face the music. "The girl who's playing my sister, she's actually setting me up and she has these same girls coming to see me at the party."

Check out the much talked about "Power" video from Kanye West off his forthcoming 5th studio album due out October 12th! The 1:42 long clip definitely raises the bar on music videos.  Here's what video director Marco Brambilla had to say of "Power"...

“It starts with a very tight shot introducing him that’s kind of a reinvention of a neoclassical painting. It pulls back from the shot, without any cuts, and we reveal the video canvas, populated by all these characters who are depicted in various stages of undress and decadence. The iconography comes from Roman iconography, Renaissance iconography, and it connects to the sexuality of the music as well. As we reveal the setting for it, there’s a feeling of a moment of transition for him. A fall from grace, if you will. It visualizes power, and him as the icon as power, and then at the end of the piece it challenges the power that I set up at the beginning. It’s an elliptical piece of storytelling.

Being in jail hasn’t stopped Lil’ Wayne from giving his fans what they want. In addition to releasing a flurry of music videos, Weezy has premiered a brand new single.

The new track, “Right Above It,” produced by Kane Beatz and featuring newcomer and fan-favorite Drake is the lead single from a new EP, I Am Not A Human Being, with the release of his next album, The Carter IV to follow.

 Lil Wayne called into NY radio station Hot 97 and talked to Funkmaster Flex to give an update on how he's holding up during his prison bid in Rikers Island.
Wayne said upon returning home, he would like to record tracks with Andre 3000 and Tech N9ne and also addressed issues with Eminem as well as his Young Money artists Drake and Nicki Minaj and not wanting to bother them while on lock down. Weezy stated,

"I really don't like to disturb them and bother them in the midst of what they're doing right now because I know they got a lot on their plates every single day so I  really don't like to bother them.  That's my thing with everybody. 

Everybody get mad at me and ask why I don't call  and I be like becauase I don't want to bother.  When you're put in this position...jail... i feel like everytime I pick up the phone to call someone I'm bothering them because i'm in jail and have nothing else better to do..."

Um, no. [Laughs.] Nah, I’m kidding. Shit, there was a couple of lines Everlast said like, “You ain’t running up on me with no empty gun.” I know that there is a lot of shit that I would have said about me.

Do you think about  your own death?
Yeah, I do. A lot. I think about it a lot. I try not to think about it but I do and it creeps me the fuck out. It creeps me out  because they say that if I got to the hospital two hours later then I would be gone. I think about that a lot. When I lay in bed at night is when I think  about it the most. Oh, hi Marshall, how are you doing? Do you need that  [prescription]?” There are doctors that will give you certain things just because of who you are.
